Hey everyone,
There is not a whole lot of news to share ate the moment but here are some tidbits...
I am feeling great and basically enjoying being pregnant. My favorite part is that I can feel Alexandra kicking A LOT! Pretty much, whenever I am sitting still she is working on her gymnastic skills. This has Mark believing that his career plan for her is on track. He thinks that she will be the first female NFL kicker. We have had debates about what we will do if she somehow gets drafted by Green Bay (shudder). I know we will be supportive parents but does that mean we will have to wear green? Being a Giants fan from New Jersey, Mark is equally concerned about the possibility of her being drafted to the Cowboys. I just wonder if that would mean that they changed the name of the team to the Cowpeople. We shall see! :) But seriously, she kicks a lot and I love it! Sometimes it makes me jump...I hope I don't end up with a broken rib by the end of this...
Mom and Mark painted the nursery on Sunday while Grandma and I cleaned. The color is called Honey Butter and it is a very soft yellow that matches the bedding set. I love it! Every time I walk past her room (which is very often since it is across from the bathroom) I peak in and imagine what the room will look like with Lexie in it. I can't wait! Mom bought the crib for us and it should be arriving any day now so we will remember Gary and Joy's advice and assemble it INSIDE the room. :)
Lots of love to you all!

Nursery Themes and such
We decided to go with a gender-neutral nursery theme even though we know that we are having Alexandra rather than a boy. The bedding is called "CoCaLo Alphabet Soup." Here is a almost decent picture of the entire theme line. We are only going to get a couple of the items so Lexie's room won't be quite so overwhelming as it might appear.
Mark and I have already purchased the actually bedding set and those cute wall hangings as well as registering for a couple of other pieces to go along with them. I just love how bright and cheerful it is and I won't have any trouble finding things to match since there is pretty much every color in the rainbow present!
We have pretty much finished the baby registry thing too! I decided that this was even more fun that registering for our wedding...I mean, come on. How exciting can Tupperware really get? I think Mark liked this better too since he didn't have to come along. Mom and Emma were my register partners and may I tell you that Emma ROCKS at figuring out those gun/scanner things! Mom was absolutely essential for me, too. How else would I have known how many bottles and such I will need? Thanks Ladies! We are registered at Babies-R-Us as well as Target.
With the thought of making room for all of the fun baby gear, I have been getting to work clearing out the nursery. Right now that room is kind of the household junk room...Filled with everything from piles of papers to be filed, to off-season clothes that don't fit in the closet to the boxes of my stuff that I have yet to unpack even though I have lived here for over 2 and 1/2 years...Most of this stuff will end up getting tossed or put into a garage sale pile. What's left gets to be packed into storage.
This week I finished organizing the room that it is all moving into and have gotten about 10% of the "junk" relocated. My hope is to have it empty by the end of the weekend so I can clean the walls and Mark can fill in the hundreds of pin holes that his old renters left behind. Mom, Emma and Grandma have kindly offered to come over in a couple of weeks to help with the painting so hopefully the room will be ready for baby stuff come June. I can't wait!

Prego belly shots
It's a girl!
We are very exited to announce that we learned today that our baby is a little girl!
We had an ultrasound done 3 weeks ago but our baby girl was being very modest that day and kept her legs crossed the entire time. Here are some pictures from that one. (week 19) Please note the modest way her legs are crossed in picture #2! :)

Because the doctors needed some better shots of a couple of things they decided to have me in for another ultrasound today. This is week 22, by the way. We were sad to have to tell everyone that we had no gender news last time so we decided to keep this one a secret. Can you believe that I managed to keep this one to myself? I know I can't! Well, I did tell that lady at the gas station but since she doesn't know me I figured that our secret was safe. The technician said that she is as sure as she can be that our little one is a girl and we have more pictures to prove it...as well as a truly adorable profile shot. Here is our little Alexandra Lucinda!

13 weeks
I know I am a bit late (no pregnancy pun intended) but I thought I would update everyone on how my 12 week doctor appointment went...
Mark and I met Dr Eastenson on Wednesday of last week for the normal 12 week visit. This was the first time that Mark came with me to one of these and we were looking forward to hearing the heartbeat.
I was excited to learn that I have LOST 4 pounds! This was a surprise since I have been super lucky and managed to avoid the whole morning-sickness ordeal. Since I am a "larger" woman this is a good thing. They tell me that I should only gain about 15 pounds compared to a "normal" woman's 25 pound goal.
From there we went to chat with the doctor for a while and then began the process of trying to hear the heartbeat. No luck! Naturally I was assuming the worst but the doctor said that this is very normal at this stage in our pregnancy. She told us that she was sending us to get an ultrasound done to check for the heart rate and such things.
During the car ride to the ultrasound site I wavered between chugging water, panicking that something was wrong with the baby and listening to Mark who was trying to calm me down. When we got there and they started the ultrasound I was near tears because the technician wasn't really saying anything to us and had yet to turn the screen so that we could see what was going on. After about 5 minutes of silent torture, I finally asked if everything was okay. The technician looked at me with surprise and said that everything was just fine. I don't think she realized the state of panic I was in.
After another couple of minutes she turned on a screen so that we could see the baby. And there really is a baby in there!!! We could see it really well and at one point we could even see it kicking it's legs around. The technician said something about us having a really active baby in there. You already probably guessed it but by know I could no longer stop the tears from flowing! That was MY baby in there moving around and kicking like a REAL baby! I am sure that most mothers go through a similar set of emotions at least once in their pregnancy but I am still mentally reeling from the way that it was kicking around!
The technician was kind enough to print out a few pictures for us. Mark thinks that the baby looks like a gummy bear in one of them so our "little Sesame seed" now has 2 more nicknames. Mark calls it "our little gummy bear" and we both call it " Our "little Wiggle worm." And yes, I am aware that we are both complete nerds! :)
The technician told us that the heartbeat is a strong 154 beats per minute and that according to the size, my due date is correct. So all of my panic was for nothing, although, if you know Mark you realize that he vastly enjoyed telling me that I should have listened to him and remained calm about the whole thing. So if my panic made Mark feel like a wise daddy, then I guess it was worth it!
Other than the doctors appointment I have another exciting development (I guess I can't help the pregnancy puns). I felt the baby move on Wednesday. Well, I am 90% sure that I did and Mark and my mother both agree with me. Very strange, yet exciting. It seems odd that I felt it so early but as Mark said, if I can feel myself ovulate it would make sense that I can feel the baby move a little earlier than some. I am not going to complain about it, that's for sure!
I have been feeling really good the last week or so. The tiredness is starting to lighten up a bit. My clothes are getting to be a bit uncomfortable so don't be surprised if I end up in maternity wear in the next week or so. I feel better about the clothing thing knowing that I have actually lost weight. That means that unless I have accidentally shrunk my clothes, this really is the baby taking up space. I am still craving the berries and now pudding, milk and bananas. Nothing too unhealthy or strange yet but I will keep you posted.
Lots of love to you all!

10 Weeks
Okay, so I am not officially 10 weeks until tomorrow...but I am darn close. Here is a little update on the pregnancy...
I have been really lucky and have had virtually no morning sickness. My most inconvenient symptom has been the constant tiredness, which is starting to get better. My only serious food craving so far has been for berries (blackberries, raspberries and strawberries specifically). Since it is the middle of winter, this is not the best time for berries but I have been buying them anyway. Apparently the baby REALLY wants them! :)
I had my first doctor appointment during week 6 and everything seems to be doing great. I guess I passed all of those tests they made me pee and bleed and such for. We are glad about that. My next appointment will be at 12 weeks and we will get to hear the baby's heart beat!
Mark has been doing really great at dealing with my crazy mood swings and has been letting me be the one to sleep in on the weekends! (This is a huge deal because the dogs like to get up early!) He even has been willing to go to Babies R Us TWICE for a total of at least 2 and a half hours! We picked out the bedding so that we can paint the room to match. It's really cute with animals and letters and such. It's called Alphabet Soup and we chose it because we wanted to go as gender neutral as possible.
Speaking of gender neutral, I won't get to have an opportunity to find out the baby's gender until the week of 4/22/09...I am desperate to know and really hoping that the baby is not crossing it's legs or something that day! And yes, as soon as we know, everyone will know. I mean, come on! Has Jenny EVER been known to keep a secret well before? I think not! :)
Thank you to everyone who has been so great, letting me babble on for hours about this baby. Hopefully I don't wear anyone out on the subject anytime soon. September is a long time from now!
Love you all tons!
